Competitive Overwatch is organized as the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS). Regional stages run through the year, and the top teams from those stages meet at international events. Matches are 5v5. A series is a set of maps, and each map is one of the role modes: Control, Hybrid, Escort, Push or Flashpoint, depending on the current pool. The first team to win the required number of maps takes the series, which is best-of-three or best-of-five in later rounds. Rosters are five players, split across tank, damage and support. A season is the sequence of regional stages plus the international LAN, not a single home-and-away table.
