A legendary run from the lower bracket
On August 21, in the upper-bracket semifinals, TEAM VISION sent Spirit down after a tight 2–1. From there, one more loss meant the season was over. Spirit did not drop another series.
- Lower-bracket quarterfinals (August 22): Spirit 2–0 Team Liquid
- Lower-bracket semifinals (August 22): Spirit 2–0 BoomBoys
- Lower-bracket final (August 23): Spirit 2–0 Team Yandex
- Grand final (August 23, 14:15 CST / UTC+8, 08:15 CEST): the rematch, Spirit 3–2 TEAM VISION
VISION had gone unbeaten through the upper bracket: BoomBoys, Spirit, then
Team Yandex (2–1). In the grand final the two sides traded maps to 2–2 before Spirit closed it on the fifth game.
After titles in 2021 and 2023, Spirit pass OG’s mark of two Internationals and sit alone with three Aegises.
How the tournament worked
Sixteen teams spent two weeks in Shanghai.
- Group stage: a Swiss-system round, every series best of three (Bo3), to seed the playoff bracket.
- Playoffs: double elimination. A first loss in the upper bracket drops you to the lower bracket; a second loss is elimination.
- Series length: the main event was Bo3 throughout, except the grand final, played as a best of five (Bo5).
